In the afternoon of October 8, New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) and their supporters held a press conference outside the Eutelsat Shareholders’ Meeting venue in Caen, France. They demanded that Eutelsat resume NTDTV broadcasts in Asia.
The Falun Dafa Information Center has learned that 46-year-old Ms. Zhang Lianying was beaten into a coma on March 20, 2007, while detained at the Beijing Women’s Labor Camp.
On February 8th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cao Dong was sentenced to five years in prison by the Gansu Provincial Court. His so-called “crimes” were “illegally connecting with a foreign anti-China force,” and “illegally accepting interviews.”
Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, European Parliament Vice President, wrote a letter to the Chinese Ambassador in Belgium, strongly urging the immediate release of Cao Dong and Gao Zhisheng. Vice President McMillan-Scott firmly states that he will refer this matter to the United Nations in person when he visits the United Nations on November 8-9, 2006.
After successfully visiting Canberra and Sydney and holding seminars there, on August 21, 2006, Edward McMillan-Scott, Vice President of the European Parliament, and David Kilgour, one of the two authors of the “Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China” traveled to Melbourne, their third stop in Australia.
Recently, a seminar on organ harvesting was held at the New South Wales State Parliament. The seminar was hosted by Phil Glendenning, director of the Edmund Rice Center. Former Canadian Secretary of State, David Kilgour and Edward McMillan-Scott, Vice President of the European Parliament, were the keynote speakers.
Former Canadian secretary of State for Asia and the Pacific David Kilgour and vice-president of the European parliament Edward McMillan-Scott were invited to visit Australia. Their objective is to report to Australian political circles and the public about their investigations into the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott MEP, Vice-President of the European Parliament and designated rapporteur for the EU’s new Democracy and Human Rights Instrument went to Beijing to investigate in person the persecution of Falun Gong in China, in particular allegations of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. One of the two Falun Dafa practitioners who met with Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, Vice President of the European Parliament, on May 21, 2006 in Beijing, is missing. It is believed he has been arrested by the CCP regime.
A vice-president of the European Parliament returned last week from a three day investigation into human rights abuses in mainland China.
After his three-day investigation in mainland China, Mr. McMillan-Scott arrived in Hong Kong at noon on May 24 and stated in a news conference that the Chinese communist regime has not changed in the past decade. He described it as “a system of atrocity, despotism, and bigotry.”
