Members
of the Australian Parliament
have joined forces for the first
time to address the pressing
global issues of forced organ
harvesting and transplant tourism.
The newly formed Parliamentary
friendship group Parliamentarians
Against Forced Organ Harvesting
(PAFOH) held their first meeting
in Canberra on July 16.
NSW
MLC David Shoebridge recommends legislative
reform for consultation to criminalise
transplant tourism, making it a serious
offence for any NSW resident to obtain
an organ from overseas in an unethical
manner.

and its teachings to look within and consider others before
oneself.

2008 Organ Transplant Act
Following the passing of this law, transplant
tourism has significantly declined. The medical
expenses (ie health insurance) will not be paid
if the transplantation does not meet Israeli requirements
(ie performed unethically overseas).
