The Australian Senate passed a motion on 21st of August 2003, expressing concern about Hong Kong’s proposed Article 23 legislation.
The World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong have found that one quarter of China’s financial resources are used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. As China is one of our largest trading partners this figure is cause for serious concern here in Australia.
According to Martin Lee, Hong Kong’s leading opposition politician, the new Article 23 legislation proposed for Hong Kong was drafted to enable the Mainland Chinese government to outlaw Falun Gong on the territory.
Falun Gong is a treasure of traditional Chinese wisdom that is valued around the world and should be nurtured, not tortured, in its homeland.
On behalf of the many people in Australia who practice Falun Dafa, we write to express our thanks for your concern for the treatment of Falun Gong practitioners in China and to respectfully ask you to clearly take up this issue in your current visit.
Bowen practitioners have recently been traveling to Mackay to give support
to the practitioners in that area. Bowen is 1,200 kilometers north of Brisbane
and Mackay is 200 kilometers south of Bowen.
The atmosphere was one of excitement with constant cheers from the huge crowds as the start was
announced. Among them were over twenty participants of the Falun Dafa team, with ages ranging from 16 to 80!
On August 2nd 2003, practitioners from Brisbane, the Gold Coast
and the Sunshine Coast areas participated in the Sugar Festival in Nambour Township.
This is the only parade in the Sunshine Coast area and attracts thousands of
visitors every year

Sydney practitioners were recently awarded 2nd prize in the Hunters Hill community festival, for an outstanding parade display.
The serene and peaceful dawn with practitioners holding a candlelight ceremony spoke well of the voice for Falun Dafa practitioners around the world that the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners must stop, and Jiang must be condemned by the people of the world and be brought to the justice court.
Every practitioner peacefully appealed in their hearts for the end to the Jiang regime’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong, and memorialized those Falun Gong practitioners who have lost
their precious lives in upholding their beliefs.
